A shared list can still hold something private

When you share a list, you usually lose your own space in it. That is why people keep a second, secret list somewhere else.

Only you can see it

Mark a task as private and it appears in the shared list for you only. Other people in the list cannot see it.

You do not need a separate list for tasks that are not for everyone. Separate lists are where things get forgotten.

Nothing changes a task's visibility on its own. A task you marked private stays private.
